Canoe Trip

Kevin took his new canoe out with the kids and one of the boys from his boy scout troop. As they were paddling past someone's back yard, a man stopped him and offered to take their picture.


They spent about 3 hours paddling up our local creek as far as they could go before it ended at a dam.


Our first outing in the canoe had actually been a few weeks earlier, while my dad was here.
We loaded the canoe onto our trusty van.


I watched nervously while everyone piled into the canoe.


Once, they tested it for leaks, Kevin convinced me to get in and paddle around with them, too.

Beach Day

I neglected to post the rest of out pictures from my dad's trip out here. In addition to going to the zoo and taking our new canoe out, we also spent an afternoon at the beach. The kids enjoyed running away from waves.


And playing in the sand.


Katy stayed in her car seat at first.


But then she got to explore the sand a little.

I think she preferred sitting in her car seat.
