Piano Recital

Maggie and Matthew had a piano recital recently. This was Matthew's very first piano recital. He has worked hard this year and he takes his teacher's instructions very seriously. She always tells me how well he implements her suggestions each week. His teacher awarded him a certificate at the recital to recognize his determination.

Maggie has also had a great year with piano. This was her third year and she has far surpassed her mother's piano playing skills.

I meant to post this in December

This was my favorite picture from Christmas. It's a few months late, but I thought I'd share anyways...

Someday I will Miss...

The marker all over the floor.
And on the wall.
And on the table.

I will miss the pencil scribbles all over her brother's math book.
And the crayon scribbles inside her favorite Dr. Suess books.

Someday I'll miss seeing those pudgy little hands covered in nail polish.
And scrubbing those hands down with acetone before the nail polish spreads to the furniture.

Wait a minute.

Is that nail polish inside your nose?!

Gaahhh!!

Someday I will miss the mess and the chaos.

Right???

Blueberries

We went to a U-pick blueberry farm this weekend and came home with 11 pounds of blueberries. It was a lot of fun. We went with several other families, and the kids all split off to pick blueberries with their friends. I had no idea where the older ones were for most of the two hours we were there. Every so often I'd hear them calling to each other from across the field, or I'd see Matthew's white hat bobbing through the blueberry bushes, so we didn't worry much.

We were too busy picking to get very many pictures, but here are a few with the kids who stayed close to us.

Easter Egg Hunt

Since I seem to have rediscovered my blog tonight, here are some pictures from our church Easter Egg hunt last Saturday.

There was a Little Girl...

Who had a little curl,
Right in the middle of her forehead (well not really, but you can imagine she does).

And when she was good she was very, very good.

But when she was bad, she was horrid.

(She also really, really likes peanut butter)
