Zoo Day

This week we have my dad in town. The kids have our whole itinerary planned for the week. Yesterday was our day to go to the zoo. The newest attraction at the our zoo is the cheetah exhibit.

It has a way for the kids to go down below the platform to get a closer look at the cheetahs.

Some of our fellow visitors wondered if it was a way to feed children to the cheetahs. But, no, there was a wooden barrier down below, with a small viewing window for the kids to look through.

Katy was, apparently, not impressed.

While the adults were slowly eating lunch, the kids ran off to pretend they were dinosaurs.

Of course, the highlight of any day at the zoo is the wading pools. It's the only reason we keep going.
Katy had her first experience in the pool, but she was a little too cold to enjoy it.

The older kids soaked each other until they were too cold to play anymore.

We got to see some sting rays (not in the wading pool).

Maggie got her face painted (she's a butterfly).

And a nice lady gave everyone a stick of birdseed to feed the birds.

I'm so glad you are blogging more! It sounds like a fun day and a good memory. That is a neat zoo and it seems they keep improving on it.
